The other week at CHC I saw a BBJ with a tail number of 20201 I was wondering will it get the USAF VIP livery?

Hello, maybe it will remain in white livery like C-22 (727). Today, there are two BBJ in VIP colours, C-40B 01-0040 and 01-0015 :

02-0201 is a C-40C, like 02-0202 :

AFAIK the C-40B is based on the BBJ (B737-700 fuselage) and the C-40C is based on the BBJ2 (B737-800 fuselage).

FACT I have seen a C-40C and it was the same length as a BBJ1.
I was also thinking about the difference between the C-40B & C-40C I was thinking it was that the C-40C seem to have bought from Civilian stocks.

The Scramble! website is saying the same thing as you, Kiwi Dave, so it looks like your thoughts about the C-40B vs. C-40C are indeed correct. Well done.
