The Reds will be in Italy for the official 50th Anniversary of the Frecce Tricolori

it's happening on 11 September at their base in Rivolto 9.00 am to 6.00 pm
the nearest big town is Udine

12 national teams will be there displaying - access will be free
no parking available on site

That would have to be one awesome air show. Will the Thunderbirds, Blue Angels or Snowbirds be there?

The Frecce Tricolori are the finest aerial team in the world in my opinion. Those guys border on nuts. I saw them in Payerne, Switzerland in '04, along with the Red Arrows, the French, Swiss, Czech, Sapanish and other air force teams. but the Italians blew everyone away.

To me the key ingredient of a good jet acrobatic team is the right choice of airplane. The Thunderbirds, Blue Angels, Patrouille Suisse, and others that use supersonic jets are missing the point, IMHO. They aren't maneuverable enough.

I agree completely on maneuvrability, Trainer aircraft are usually good choice, either prop as Krila Oluje or jet
as Tricolori, Patrouille France, Red Arrows....
