RAF Hercules Makes Final Journey By Road

This RAF Hercules made its trip by road thought it was a nice little video that shows the size of the aircraft

"A Hercules aircraft has started its journey by road from RAF Lyneham in Wiltshire to Hixon airfield in Staffordshire.

The fuselage was taken by a truck on the A3102 before travelling along the M4 and M5.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said the load was one of the largest to have been transported on the county's roads.

"Subject to the weather and operational commitments the two wings will be moved on 16 and 23 January," he said"

I wonder if there were any A.nutters on the route, this would certainly give us some unique photos for the DB if so!

Cool video from your BBC link. I hope there were no "low" bridges along the route the decommissioned RAF C-130K would need to go under.

According to local paper it left Lyneham at 0745.

A bit early for photos this time of year.
