F-16's...on a carrier???
Well, I guess any fighter could land on a carrier.....once!! Might not exactly be in one piece, but I guess it could be done.
Honestly, if you look at the landing gear of any carrier-based aircraft and then compare it to USAF birds, you'll see that they just aren't built to survive the impact of carrier landings.

General Dynamics did propose a carrier version when the Navy was looking for a lightweight fighter.
But one of the big issues with the 16 on carriers is where the nosegear is on the aircraft. The A-7 allready had the nickname of the "People Eater" and the 16's wheel is even closer to the inlet.
The Navy went with a remade Northrop F-17 which was renamed the F-18.
OBAMA-WORST PRESIDENT EVER....Even SKOORB would be better.

It is easy to become confused if you are watching TV. I just heard an announcer make a mistatement that would make you think F-16s were carrier-based. That said, this has just recently been covered.
