Was it the runway lengths in Alabama that forced POTUS to use the C-32 as Air Force One to KSC today?

POTUS, as many of you know, PONTUS was surely the PILATE.

Hopfully it was a fuel saving measure. It's ridiculous to fly a 747 on this kind of trip.

I don't understand everything I don't know about this.

They could have used the DC-9 version instead...but maybe those JT8s guzzle more than what the 757 would use? Just a thought.

I have seen POTUS use the VC-25 to come to PHL from Washington. One would think that to go anywhere from say DC-NYC they could just use Marine One.

They could and will when they get the VH-71. (Yeah, I'm all but assuming Boeing gets the nod with what will essentially by a similar VH-71 that already exists, minus the nonsense that the WHMO and NAVAIR tried to stuff on the former LM VH-71.)
