There has been 3 KC-135's at Jet Center the last couple days. 1 departed about 17:30 as Jazzy 83. Anyone have any ideas why they were there? Why not at MacDill?

And while I'm reading your post, one just took off from Daytona Beach DAB (I can watch traffic from my place now), which is unusual for Daytona. Granted yours is odder still considering MacDills proximity, but just sayin...

I'm surprised that over 250 people has viewed this topic and no one has a clue what these planes were doing there.

They're tankers - they are probably flying refueling missions, what else do you think they are doing?

They are practising picking up the slack for the airlift fleet that is being reduced, since the new cargo / tankers are not yet in the fleet, the KC135 will have to commence operating into more civil airports to pick up and drop off military cargo.
Just saying

There was some work being done to the runways at MacDill so the 135's were operating out of TPA. There were also two G-V's, one all white and the other with the lite blue AF1 look. They even brought in temp storage and what looks like a temp lounge over by the south end of the GA area.

About the time of this posting I was seeing a bunch of KC-135s flying into MCO also, back around late Jan - early Feb. One of them was Ohio Air Guard though, wasn't a MacDill based one.
