With the upcoming NATO summit I know that there will be a lot of foreign ambassadors and government leaders in Chicago, but I've been wondering, will all their planes be at O'hare? And is the Air Force planning on stationing F-15/16s at GYY, PWK or MDW?

There are already Wisconsin ANG F-16s in Madison. They can close a 100 mile gap pretty quickly so I kind of doubt that it's worth the expense to move the planes.
Why do Aerospace Engineering students have to turn things in on time?

You can't be serious! Wisconsin ANG unit guarding Illinois! They would be rolling in their graves in Springfield! Actually why do we still have a F16 unit in Springfield, besides the fact that Illinois politicos are great at bringing the bacon home! Oops thats also why the summit is in Illinois!

We don't. It's just maintenance now I think. The only actual planes the Illinois ANG has left I believe are the KC-135s in Chicago and C-130s in Peoria.

I haven't seen a KC135 at ORD for a decade or more but you're right they only do mx at Springfield now!

Quoting iFlyLOTs (Reply 4): There are no more ANG planes left in Chicago, that I'm certain of.
The tankers have moved to Scott AFB.
Quoting iFlyLOTs (Reply 4): And wouldn't it still be "safer" to have jets in the area?
Not at all. You can't just move a few planes and all of their crews (not just pilots) and weapons some other airport for just a few days without having it be a big pain in the butt.

There are A-10s in Indiana and Michigan, and F-16s in Ohio and Iowa.

But they deploy planes for exercises overseas all the time, this would be just a "little" deployment!
