19th May 2012, over 3000 service personnel paraded at Windsor, to mark the armed forces contribution to the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, marking 60 years of her serving as head of state.

A major flypast started with 9 RAF Typhoon aircraft in 'Diamond 9' formation, a similar formation ended it with the Red Arrows doing the same.
In between, there was a large helicopter formation, as well as Tucano trainers spelling out '60', an even bigger (28 aircraft) of Hawks denoting her official 'E II R' symbol of office, a VC-10 in what is probably the last such formation this aircraft will take part in prior to retirement, along with Tornado's, C-130's and the Lancaster and Spitfires from the RAF's Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight.

Amazing, makes me proud to be British
Also, the upmost respect has to be given to our Armed Forces. Highly trained, skilled, brave professionals. And to all those that have fallen too.

We Will Remember Them.

If the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, 'This was their finest hour.'

A smaller flypast yesterday but with a much larger crowd, the culmination of the Diamond Jubilee;

A view from two of the BBMF aircraft;
