Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone knows any info about the VC10 and where it'll be flying. I know the remainder which are being used by the RAF are being retired soon. I always used to see them in YYC in the summer but I've heard as of late they've been chartering to Monarch to bring troops over. Anyone know if we'll have a chance to see anymore VC10's in YYC or anywhere else for that matter?

An RAF VC10 came to SAN last year and when it took off you could hear the roar for 10 minutes as it looped around to the east. Must not be even Stage II.

Definitely. The VC10 made regular visits to IAD when I used to work there. Every time a VC10 took off, every building shook for quite a while. The VC10 was even loud when it taxied. My ears say the VC10 was louder than the Concorde.

As a fellow YYC spotter I've wondered the same thing. It's just not quite the same around here without the occasional deafening roar that the VC-10's brought with their visits. Sure we've gotten some neat charters instead (Omni Air 772 and others) but I would trade them all in an instant to see the VC-10 again.
