This is nuts! The guy was apparently jailed, but dang, what a bargain for approx. $6!

Has anyone seen this happen before? (has this been discussed before?)

What do you all think?

I have the equivalent of $60 on me right now, I'm gonna be a squadron commander!

Russian fighters have turned up on ebay before, though I don't remember any of them being such a bargain.

LOL! Good one!      I wouldn't mind to order a fleet either.

Why do I see the ghost of Billy Mays saying "And the deal gets even better, we'll give you two for that one low price, just pay separate shipping and handling."

These MIg 31s got to be decommissioned, right?
There's no way they are flyable I think!

What could we do with them other than setting one up in the garden/warehouse as an exhibition?

There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde

Did either of you read the article?

"Despite being stripped of engines and weapons, the powerful twin-seat MiG-31s were actually worth $4 million a piece. "

For what it's worth, the same article got picked up by the Telegraph in the UK. But, as you say there may be more to this story.

I have no doubt that there is some truth to the story, but the 3 quid amount is completely potty. Something was lost in translation I'm sure.
