Sorry to add more bad news, with several crashes in the last few days.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-20278891

13 soldiers and 4 crew reported killed on a Sikorsky. Judging by the manufacturer and number of casualties, this must be an S-70 variant.

Best regards,

Jim

Erm, is this thing on?

17 killed as military helicopter crashes in Turkey

A military helicopter crashed in southeast Turkey, killing 13 special forces soldiers and four crewmembers, Turkish officials reported.
The helicopter went down due to bad weather conditions in Siirt province, killing everyone on board, Siirt Governor Ahmet Aydin said.
The helicopter reportedly crashed amid heavy fog in a mountainous area; authorities are still investigating the specifics of the incident.

About 70 miles away. It is closer to Iraq than Syria.
