Was driving down 380 on Sunday and saw what looked like an E-4B parked at SFO. Was I mistaken or was one really there? If anybody know why?

Well he lives in Monterey, but that is over 2 hours away and MRY can handle executive jets.

I'm pretty sure Monterey can't handle a 747

I've visited that airport, I'm pretty sure that a 747 frame would be longer than the entire terminal of that place. Awesome airport to fly in and out of for that very reason.

This is actually the second time in 2 months. I saw a E-4 arrive less then 2 months ago as well.

Yeah. I think a 757 is about as big as your getting ay MRY without stopping the whole airport

As above, just passing through.

SecDef is doing a trip out to Southeast Asia.

Maybe he wanted to stop home in NoCal for clean underwear?

I guess E4B is his ride of choice.

Isn't it Austrailia for a meeting with the US SecState?

If you will:

Quote:

Panetta is attending the annual Australia-U.S. ministerial meeting along with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

...

After Australia, Panetta will travel to Thailand, becoming the first top U.S. defense official to visit the country since 2008. He will meet with counterpart Sukumpol Suwannatat as well as Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra. Panetta also will visit Siem Reap, Cambodia, to meet with the defense minister, General Tea Banh, as well as other defense ministers from the region.

So I guess we're both right!

Speak of the Devil. The E-4B is currently parked at the VIP Plot 40 parking at SFO This will cause the New Orleans Saints plane to park at a different spot tonight.
