Patrouille Suisse: The End?

Hello dear a.nutters,


our Minister of Defense, Ueli Maurer, plans to abolish the Patrouille Suisse, which is currently flying with F-5E Tigers.

In a discussion in the Gripen procuring committee, a member asked Maurer about the PS's future. He answered that after 2016, the Patrouille Suisse won't exist anymore, and that flying displays will be flown with F/A-18 (C or D models) or with the Gripen, albeit not as a squadron like the Patrouille Suisse currently does.

Myself, I still remember an airshow where they flew with the Hawker Hunters.
