A worthy replacement for their older AH-1 Cobra's. The AH-64 beat out the AH-1Z and the AgustaWestland T-129 for this competition.

Hot off the press:
Quote:
SEOUL—South Korea said on Wednesday it will spend $1.6 billion to buy attack helicopters from Boeing Co. BA to better cope with North Korean military threats.

A fleet of 36 AH-64E Apache Guardian choppers will be deployed in South Korea from 2016 to 2018, said a senior official at the Defense Acquisition Program Administration in Seoul.

Great move by the ROKAF. I believe this is the first sale of the AH-64E version.

First export customer was Taiwan (30) who already have taken delivery for training in US last year (and the first new manufacture AH64E, US ones so far have all been remanufactured) .Qatar has also been approved for 24 and India for 22 , not sure if order actually in yet and Indonesia is interested.
