A Brazilian Air Force KC-137 overran the runway at PAP after an aborted take-off, there were no injuries reported but some damage to the airframe. The abort was due to an engine fire. Details and some pics here.

Thank God no one was hurt. The pictures of the KC-137 do not look like there is a significant amount of damage, except for the NLG being sheared off.

1 engine on fire, followed by a broken NLG does not sound a minor issue.

while not minor, they are not significant enough to warrant scrapping the aircraft.. unless there is a political motive to do so.. like getting a newer plane with leather seats and that new a/p smell that the brass love..
