This place is only a few miles from my house, and I routinely get to see these classics fly over. The museum it self is pretty nice, and as I recall none of the planes are roped off. Hopefully whoever purchases the collection will be able to keep the place running somewhat as is.

I was a bit surprised that he does not know how many planes he has.

Sad news.. but the B-17 and FW-190 are headed to Oregon. Awesome!

I really hope the Mosquito finds a good home.

No joke! We'll both get a chance to see them. I assume they're going to Evergreen?

I can't imagine the business model aviation museums run ever make anything near a profit. The fighter collection there is impressive.

The Mosquito is the best item in the collection.
Talk is that Rod Lewis is taking time away from his divorce proceedings to put in a bid for it.

Rod is a pretty sharp negociator, and he knows that Jerry is in need of some cash quickly... so it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Their flight insurance got pulled monday, so all aircraft are grounded until they find new homes.

Another reason to make the trip south.

Sad to see a great collection broken up. Some great photos in that link though.
