I was driving north (east), coming off the Howard Franklin Bridge about 12:20 today and noticed a JetBlue A320 coming in to land on 1L, no big deal. Except that Blue Angel #6 was flying north at high speed with "smoke-on", it appeared to go over 1R and do a hard right (and tight) turn, then slowed and landed on 1R. It was being refueled on the north side of Signature a few minutes later.

Anyone know why it was here? I was thinking possibly for a flyover for the Panthers-Bucs game tonight, but thought that sporting event flyovers were cancelled due to the sequester... Could it be for the funeral of Rep. Young that was today in Pinellas County? If so I would think it would have flown to PIE.

I can only imagine what the folks in South Tampa thought about this today knowing how sensitive they are to noise.

Hi Neighbor !

I'm just pulling your leg, i've lived in the bay area for 22 years and I only recently noticed the correct name when I was crossing the HF recently !

You've been here a lot longer than I have, must have been a great sight to see that Blue F18.

I think they're a great team and put on an amazing show.

Best wishes n92

Possibly in town discussing future show plans? We get an Angel here at SFO from time to time during the off season to go over Fleet Week plans.
