Looking through the latest uploads, I came across this picture that the photographer identifies as "A large US military base in the middle of Botswana." Does anyone here know what the purpose of this facility (obviously an airfield) is?
"U.S. Use of African Military Bases (...........) It is likely that other facilities, such as the recently expanded air base in Botswana, would be available for the use of U.S. troops if the United States wanted to use them in the future. But this would be up to the host country on a case-by-case basis"
"The details of this movement go back to 1994, when prior to South Africa's first multiracial election – which turned out to be one of the most fraudulent in modern history – the Afrikaner Volksfront and the Zulu Nation led by Mangosuthu Buthelezi joined forces seeking to create an independent homeland in the Transvaal. A state of emergency was declared while British frigates sailed off the Mozambique coast, and the secret U.S. airbase in Botswana, backed by elite British SAS special forces, went on high alert"
