Jet Thrust.com has photos of a buried Iraqi jet fighter being recovered by U.S. Air Force troops. The Iraqi jet, an advanced Russian MiG-25 Foxbat, was found buried in the sand after an informant tipped off U.S. troops.

This is old news, this is from June or July.
It wasn't the US Air Force that found the aircraft rather it was Australian Special Forces Units, they found the aircraft buried in Western Iraq.
Still have no clue why they buried them, unless they thought the US would bomb them a little then would cease (aka Clinton '98). I really don't think Saddam and the rest of his croonies thought the US would go all the way to Baghdad.
It was the Australians who found the aircraft , but judging by the Uniforms and Equipment it looks from the pictures to be US Navy Seabees that are digging the aircraft out.
