Elemendorf AFB is resurfacing their runways this summer and next summer.

Right now if you want to see a lot of heavy iron flying through ANC it is the time.

I have seen E-3,C-140 and C-9 aircraft over the past three nights.

And right now there is a Navy 737 parked over on teh north ramp.

Sounds like a military spotters dream.

Expect more traffic next summer, they are doing the crosswind this year, next year the main runway.

Add the C-5 to that list.

Specifically 900001 out of Travis.

Taxing past the B gate as we speak.

Terrific!

I'll be in Anchorage May 21st-24th. Unfortunately, I'm booked into the (downtown) Marriott rather than the (eastside) Sheraton which offers better views of Elmendorf.

The downtown Marriot, great, new hotel, has only been up for a year or two.

If you want any tourist suggestions feel free to drop me a line.

Hey guys,

Still getting the military traffic this week.

About thirty minutes ago an F-15 arrived.

I wasn't expecting tactical air.

The AWACs just launched and another one returned.

It is parking down by Atlas and Polar, behind the old FDX building. You should be able to see it from Jewel Lake Road.
