3 Blackhawk Helicopters that belonged to the 68th medical company at Ft Wainwright Alaska where pulled from the burning hanger they where in and saved saved, when a fire destroyed the building.

A humvee and tug however where lost in the blaze. No injuries to personel

The Hanger which was built in the 1950's was a total loss. Replacement costs are estimated at 15 million dollars.

I first look at the topic and read it as '3 Blackbirds Save But Ft. Wainwright Hanger Burns. LOL

Its good that there were no casualties. Pity about the Humvee and tug, though.  Crying

KiwiNanday:

I had the same thought, re: Blackbirds. Probably a trick of the eye with a nearby post actually being about Blackbirds.

That's SpaceShipOne, right!?

But you're probably right about the 'trick of the eye'

So if they hadn't saved the helicopters, that would be 3 Blackbirds baked in a Hanger?

Shoot that would have made a great title to this thread if I had thought of it.
