Yesterday I saw the Airshow which was presented by the India Airforce Aerobatic Team The 'SURYAKIRAN'. During the display the 9 member formation team did many formations. All of them where pretty colorful.

How does the aircrafts produce White,Red,Green & Blue colors smokes?Does anyone know anything about how they discharge the smoke for the jets exhaust?They actually fly Kiran MK2 aircrafts made by the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited(HAL).

And how does formation pilots perform perfect loops. Is it by looking at the G-Force counter that they make perfect circles using smoke in the air?Please do tell me if anyone knows the techniques behind these display tactics.

Not sure in a jet, but in the pitts you ease it up to 3Gs, then slowly take the G's off until you float over the top in 0G, then the reverse to recover. It takes alot of practice.


At worst, you screw up and die.
