I just caught the end of a story on the local Florida news about the Super Bowl, and they indicated the fly-over would be by a bunch of WWII aircraft... Anyone have more information?

There are a lot of privately owned warbirds in FL, plus organizations such as owned by Kermit Weeks; they will probably have a decent turnout.

Also, for those interested, there will be a flyby of two F/A-22s, the first nationally televised public appearance of the Raptor. Regards...Jack

What I saw on the news showed 2 T-6 Texans and one B-25, all of which are coming out of Kissimmee, Fl. But its the news, I wouldn't be suprised if it was stock tape and not representive of the actual aircraft that will used.

Rose bowl in 2003 had a F-22, B-2, and F-117 flyover. Stealth party I guess. Pretty impressive.

Best sports flyover I ever saw in person was at a KC Royals game in the mid-90s, with a B-1, 4 A-10, and 6 CH-47D (staggered in waves, in case anyone thinks I'm saying a CH-47 can keep up with a B-1)

Thats what I don't like about East coast Super Bowls, it's too dang dark. I could not make them out. Heck they looked like F-15's to me. But i'm sure ya'll saw them better. TV doesn't do it justice. If they would have lit the AB's, now that would have been cool. But it was too dark for me.

It was what looked like two old T-6 Texans and a B-25 for the vet salute and two Hornets and two Raptors for the anthem. I'm just shocked we got two 22s flying with out an IFE...just kidding.

Good game, not as good as last year IMO but okay none-the-less.

Ciao, and Hook 'em Horns,

The Super Hornets were from VFA-106 at NAS Oceana. The F-22's were from Tyndall AFB.

Strange...only (2) F/A-22's and (2) Superhornets flew over.
