Confirmed, Elemendorf To Get F/A 22

Just came out today, the Air Force will base the F/A 22 at Elemendorf Air Force Base. They will replace the F-15's in two fighter squadrons.

Elemendorf will be the 2nd base behind Langley to get the fighters. Looking at the 2008 time frame.

Just heard the news, they havn't got a story link up.

OBAMA-WORST PRESIDENT EVER....Even SKOORB would be better.

Gotta keep the No. Koreans on their toes somehow... They're very respectful of the F15Es capability as is. No doubt the F/A-22 will get their attention.

I would assume so as there are 3 F-15 squadrons there. 2 F-15Cs and the F-15E.

Well the news said that two squadrons where converting, so I suspect that those would be the C squadrons.

They where quoting 48 aircraft.

News also said there would be some downsizing of troop strength at E-Dorf as well, apparently because the Raptor will take less maintenance personnel . . . interesting. Two Squadrons of F22 and one of F15s at E-Dorf. They will keep the F16s at Eielson . . .

I guess alot a Gaurd units that fly the F-15 A model will transitioning to C models as soon as Elmendorf converts.

Does anyone have a list of exactly where the F/A-22s will be based? So far we have Tyndall (Training), Langley (Operational) and Elmendorf (Operational).
