I was wondering how advanced the F-15C is when compared to the F-16C? When they are sitting on the ramp, is one definately more advanced than the other? Do pilots coming out of training prefer one to the other? Do they still make F-15Cs, or single seat F-15s? I know that the F-16 is still in production, but to the best of my knowledge, the F-15C stopped rolling out of St. Louis a long time ago.
Also, why does the U.S.A.F. continue to purchase F-15E "Strike Eagles" and not an F-16s? If my information is correct, the Air Force is 2 squadrons short of F-16s when it come to requiring their Rapid Expansion requirements.

The reason for the F-15E is that the USAF needs an all-weather, quite capable, theater bomber to haul some serious loads to enemy targets. The F-16 cannot fulfill this role, and with the retirement of the F-111, the F-15E is the only bird between the F-16 and the heavy long range bombers (B-1, B-2, B-52).

Both the upgraded F-15C and the block 50/52 F-16C/D's are pretty much equally advanced, although I don't like making such kind of comparing.
Those a/c were designed to fulfill different roles, the F-15 is the expensive and sophisticated air superiority fighter, while the F-16 was supposed to be the cheap multi-role fighter. Over the years those roles have changed, though, as I said, the F-16C currently in production is very advanced.
A pilot who wants to fly a pure air-to-air bird will want to fly the Eagle, a pilot who would like to have a wider range of potential missions will want to go for the Viper.
The USAF might purchase more F-16C/D's in the near future, the JSF is scheduled to enter service in 8-9 years, the USAF is likely to need more F-16-class a/c by then.
