It's very real. The EWO is just along for the ride, and just having a little fun with the 'Boomer'. Shoot, you should see some of the stuff I pull out of the cockpits of commercial airliners..!!

I bet its real. There's tons of porn mags in our cockpits. I'd be surprised if they didn't do it in the military as well.

Why would this be a joke? Long flight, you need reading material to keep the mind sharp and ready for action.
Boomers have seen more than magazine covers from thier perch.
I don't understand everything I don't know about this.

Well I would have hoped that the Air Force could have at least supplied a quality magazine like Playboy, and not something smutty like Penthouse.

I think that comment was totally uncalled for. If you know anything about attack helicopters, take a look at my forum name and you can guess my line of work.
I have worked with the Royal Netherlands Armed Forces on a number of occassions and I can tell you they are no different.
The aircrew in the US Armed Forces are highly professional individuals and in the words of Field Marshall Montgomery, morale is the greatest asset any fighting force can have. If it keeps the guy happy at work and doesn't harm operational effectiveness, let him have it.

I know, but it's just very stupid to do it in front of a camera, knowing that by now half Iraq and Afganistan is aware of this photo...

I don't think a pic from 80's of a F-111 crew will affect the current state of Iraq.

The guy in the RHS probably realised that it wasn't the best decision he ever made. Sorry if I jumped on your post but in the politically correct times we live in, its a bit of a brush fire starter.
I must add that in Her Majesty's Armed Forces, we wouldn't dream of carrying such literature

Correct me if I'm wrong but that's an F-111 correct? I believe the USA is the only nation that flies F-111s.
