A report in my daily newspaper states that Laura Bush and daughters Barbara and Jenna arrived in South Africa (Cape Town) for a short visit in a military Airbus A340 - 600.

Surely this cannot be right? Obviously the journalist could not give a rat's ass to make sure what type of aircraft they flew in on.

Question is, with what aircraft did they actually fly? If I can find out I can send an e-mail to the paper to point out their error, and to tell them to get their facts straight before printing bullshit like this.

Below is a link to the article, unfortunately it is in Afrikaans, but if you look at the third paragraph, the words Airbus 340-600 will stand out like a sore thumb. The paragraph states that she is accompanied by about 40 personnel, 15 of wich are overseas journalists.

Edit: Here is a link to an English newpaper's report:

Considering that the USAF does not have any Airbus aircraft, nor do I think there is even a military A340-600, you are correct in that Mrs. Bush and her daughters did not arrive on an A340-600. They most likely flew in on a C-32 (757).

Thanks very much for the info.
