Hi there!
Just want to tell you all about a nice experience I had last year. There was an airshow in Gothenburgh where I lived before moving to AMS, and the Royal Dutch Airforce were there. They parked there jets at GOT airport where I worked and I was very lucky (as I see it), cause one of the pilots did let me sit in his F-16. Have flown the F-16 alot on the pc, and it is very detailed. But this was just to good for words! To actually sit in it. Maybe some of you goes "so what", but let me tell you all that this is something I will keep in memory for....who knows how long.
And then the next day see that aircraft I had been sitting in come flying at the airshow. And see those manouvers and G-forces he pulled.

Yes I have had a similar experience...
In October of 1995 I was in LAS with my family for vacation. We had arranged a tour of Nellis AFB, which is just northeast of the city, and home to the Thunderbirds. Part of the tour involved going into their magnificent hangar, and they happened to be at Nellis when we were there... Sitting in the hangar was the #4 and #5 F-16C's of the Thunderbird, and the #4 had a maintenance ladder going up to the cockpit ready, with an enlisted man working in it. The guide permitted me to go up the ladder, and I was allowed to sit in the cockpit of the #4 Thunderbird while the enlisted man explained things to me...it was an awesome experience, one I will never forget.
Here is a trivia question also, something weird I learned on that tour:

I can't answer your trivia, but I wonder something. The A/C that Thunderbirds use, are they just for displays or do they belong to a squadron?
The reason I ask is cause I wonder if the plane you sat in were a MLU? You happen to know?
The ones that Royal Dutch has is MLU.

The Thunderbirds are officially known as the 3600th Air Demonstration Squadron, so they are their own squadron, they remain in their special paint scheme except if they are needed for times of war, in which case they can be converted back to combat capable F-16's in a period of 2 days I think.

I thought only European countries have F-16 MLU's. Those are modified and upgraded F-16A/B's. The USAF doesn't need such an upgrade for its F-16's because it can always purchase F-16C/D's.

LY is correct on that count as well, we dont have MLU F-16s here I believe, but I have read about them in Code One Magazine...
