President Bush stoped off at SNN last night while en route to an unannounced visit to Afganastan. He reportedly walked around the terminal chatting with US troops whom were on their way to serve in Kuwait.

I thought he was on his way for talks in India and Pakistan. Maybe he is visiting Afghanistan on the way there / back.

Apparently it's for talks bout Nuclear Technology in India for powerplants. But a surprise visit wouldn't be bad for morale for some soldiers who are stuck in the middle of nowhere.

Quoting Cricket (Reply 3): AF1 went to Kabul? That must have been a heck of a flight, I remember last time when Clinton came to India he left for Pakistan in a Gulfstream.
Im not 100% sure it was the jumbo, as the AF1 callsign applies to any aircraft the President is travelling on. Bringing the jumbo into Kabul would obviously carry a huge security issue.

Any Air Force aircraft he is on. Any Navy aircraft are Navy One, Marine aircraft are Marine One, Army aircraft are Army one, and private aircraft are Executive One.

I wonder why he stopped in SNN? Seems if he was going for an unannounced trip to Afghanistan, it would be non-stop. Not that I question he is going, just is a little strange.

Just for the record, in 2000, when President Clinton visited India and Pakistan, he visited India first and while departing from India for Pakistan, a decoy plane was sent ahead and he followed in a smaller plane (perhaps the Gulfstream)....

President Bush is making an official visit to India, during which the Nuclear talks will be one of the issues being discussed....
