I saw this E3-D on final wehile i was holding short of RW17L at PIE in Florida. Ive looked and cannot find any other RAF E-3D's with similar markings on the tail. I would love to get its reg. I dont think its ZH101 through ZH107 but i might be wrong.

At a guess, it's an aircraft from #23 Squadron

But couldn't tell you which one it is.

It's quite probably ZH103.
I saw it on approach at MacDill last week, and definitely ZH103 is flying around the area today as callsign 'Vulcan 1'.

I'm guessing they are the same one, unless there is more than one over here.

Added: I think you can see '03' on the nose in that photo. It's the same in other pics on A.net of the same aircraft. Don't know if it corresponds to ZH103 though.

I'd rather be on the ground wishing I was in the air, than in the air wishing I was on the ground!

I just checked photos of ZH104 and it has '04' on the nose above cockpit windows...so ZH103 was your bird....and mine  Smile

Hi,

The Sentry with the special markings will be ZH103. It's the only one of the seven with 8/23 Squadron's that shows these markings and has been marked this way for a while. The other side of the airframe has equally colourful markings for 8 Sqn as well.
