Well, not to nit-pick, but the F-117 isn't a fighter  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

My favorite is the F-15 with the F-23 comming in a close second.

I love the E-2 Hawkeye the best (I do know it's not a fighter plane, but I love it!). My favourite fighter plane would be the F-14 Tomcat. The F-15's pretty cool too.
 Big thumbs up

fightingfalcon - is it more beutiful or not that is persona l opinion - but Sukhoi S-37 will propably see service, while X-29 is hanged on strings in National Air & Space museum in Washington
(I think both airplanes look great, I have seen only pics of S-37, and X-29 in person)

Technically the X-29 is not a fighter but a test bed.

I think the same thing can be said for the S-37 also but there is less info on that project.

Besides everbody knows the Supermarine Spitfire IX was the prettiest A/C around.

The old F-4 Phantom. It was probably the most unique looking jet fighter ever, and it was fast as hell.

hi,
the best ever was the de havilland dh-100 vampire, everybody knows that...  Wink/being sarcastic at least it looks pretty cool.
the spitfire series is also great, at least up to the time they started using RR griffin engines, they don't go well with the airframe.
today, the su-27 flanker would be my favourite...
jsb

p.s.: fightingfalcon, you're right, the typhoon today looks stupid, european air forces should buy russian jets  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
the wwII typhoon looks cool and was a great ground attack plane...

F-105 Thunderchief, the "Thud"

B-52 escort from Griffiss AFB NY

25 Aerosol : The new forum is cool. Instead of Airbus vs. Boeing we now have russian vs american vs. european including british & swedish & german vs wwII fighters
26 CV990 : Hi! Well fellows I still stay with my path, well I can't give again the Super Constellation as a fighter but it is a Lockheed product, this time its
27 American 767 : Mine is the Spitfire, it was in my opinion the best looking fighter in WWII, most elegant and most manoevrable. I like the French built SPAD as well,
28 Post contains images FedExHeavy : The Lockheed P-38 Lightning, without a shadow of a doubt, I love this plane!, my second favorite is the F-14 Tomcat! Have a nice day! FedExHeavy
29 Fly-By-Pilot : I remeber that NASA dumped the X-29 project because it sucked at speeds above 400mph. So i dont know about the SU-37. Anyways, the best figher is the
30 Shark : F-4 Phantom and the P-51 Mustang. Nothing like hearing the roar of a P-51 at Reno.
31 CPDC10-30 : F-16 in a dogfight, F-15 in a interceptor role.
32 Post contains images Jwenting : Super Hornet forever! Hawker Hunter for looks as a close second
33 Steman : My favourite of all time is the Alenia F-104S/ASA STARFIGHTER. Then I like Typhoon, F-15, F-14 and SU-27 Family Ciao Stefano
34 SU508 : TWA, I though F-117 was not a fighter... but a bomber or something. I'm not really sure but definetly not a fighter... Regards, BBC_CCCP RUS AF RULES!
35 Jwenting : SU-508, X-29 did fly and fly well. It was never meant to enter production, which is why it never did. S-37 is a hoax. Noone ever saw it in the air AFA
36 Post contains images SU508 : Jwenting, I dont undeerstand what you mean... If you want to see photographs of it in air go to "Russian 5th Generation Fighter" and click on one of m
37 Cobra27 : My best overall fighter is Su-37 Terminator, but I also like the American F-22 raptor even it is not proved to be airsuperority fighter.
38 Mezza : Got a couple. F86 series even the Dog sabre has a certain quality to it. F106 sleek and deadly Mirage 2000 typical classic French lines.
39 Cobra27 : heyfightinig falcon X-29 isn't the same plane as SU-37. It is smaller and hasn't got vectored thrust and stealta capabilities
40 Aerotech : The role of the F-22 is'nt air sueriority, it's air dominance. It hasn't porved it yet because it is not operational. The S-37 Berkut is not stealth,
41 Cobra27 : Russian AF claims that it has stealth capabilities, but not like raptor. And I knew that berkuts wont enter in service a long time ago. Maybe if there
