This is a question that has always made me think:
Do V-22 Osprey pilots usually come from flying helicopters or planes?
Does anybody have the answer?

If the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, 'This was their finest hour.'

IIRC there is an argument that for some reason rotor trained pilots don't do the transition to this type of craft as well as pilots who start fixed winged. I probably have it backwards as usual...

Those with experience will typically come from the CH-46 community (helos) and those newbs coming through the pipeline will be trained as nescessary starting with T-34C or T-6II and transistioning to TH-57's. Perhaps they will throw in some T-44 time, too but the V-22 is more of a rotary-winged flight envelope than a fixed wing.

That may be true for the USMC pilots, but I thought the USAF pilots come from the CH/MH-53.
