Hi everyone,
I was just walking to work at the Univ. of Arizona (0930 MST Oct 3) and saw this unusual airplane on final approach to KDMA -- not the typical A10 or F16 that we see all the time! It seemed to be a small passenger/cargo jet with a T-tail and four engines mounted in the tail section, two on each side. It seemed to be painted in a shade of gray.
Is there a way to find out what type of aircraft it was? flightaware.com does not display military flights, unfortunately. If anyone knows a web page or a phone number where one can call to find out, it'd be great! I didn't want to call base operations, I figured they must be plenty busy without my bothering them...

RAF VC-10s visit that part of the World a lot normaly at Nellis as the RAF has a Bunch of it"s Fighters based at Nellis and other air bases in that area.
So it was probably not going into Moth Balls as the RAF has St Athan base for just that ocasion.

Like everyone said, it was probably a VC-10. The RAF frequently visits Davis-Monthan.
I'm not totally sure, but I don't think AMARC has more than 2 or 3 foreign aircraft stored. I don't believe its used for other countries military aircraft. I could be totally wrong though... I do know there is an old MiG in there sitting near some F/A-18's. Always a nice site to see.
