Not to long ago my ship toke on T-45, to train new pilot. From start to taxi, the sound a T-45 engine made, reminded me of a L1011 TriStar engine. I know to T-45 is powered by Rolls Royce engine, but they are two shaft low by pass engine not the three shaft high by pass engines like on the L1011. So is it me, or do T-45 sound sound like L1011 from start to taxi?
PS: By the way could somebody tell me why T-45 exhaust hurt people eyes, we did not have this problem with are F/A 18's?
