UAE Air Force Chooses A330 Mrtt

For your information:

According to the belgian newspaper "Gazet Van Antwerpen" the Air Force of the UAE has choosen the A330 MRTT as their future tanker and transport aircraft. The number of frames and value of the order was not disclosed.

Great news, but I didn't know the UAE was looking for, or even needed tankers. It will be interesting to find out how many they order. My guess is 3-4 airplanes.

Reportedly they ordered three A330MRTT bringing the total order book of A330-based tankers to 26.

Currently, they don't have any, so why not ?

I think they'll also order the boom with it, because of the new F-16s.

Exceptions confirm the rule.
