I live in the south-east part of Washington, and I was told by some friends that Whidbey Island and perhaps some McChord fighters to terrain training by flying really fast (perhaps supersonic) in a canyon near here. This has been told to me by at least 3 sources, and I was wondering if anyone here has ever heard of such an area. What a great spotting oppertunity. Thanks. A little background about me, I usually post in the Civil forum. I live near PSC which is a former Navy base, and the have C-17's from McChord and P-3's from Whidbey that do touch and goes here and we can even get the occaisional E-6 that comes in.

From what I've been told by 2 non aviation freak sources, they are F-15's and F-16's. A sort of aviation loving friend said that they are intruders from Whidbey island and I seem to remember a news report saying F-16's. Also in Steven Coonts' book Flight Of the intruder has them fly inland from the Washington/Oregon coast and do terrian following training.
