Hey guys,

There is currently a C-5 Galaxy and a C-17 Globemaster sitting at the GA parking spot here at TPA. There were 2 C-5's here last night, not sure why though, anybody have an idea?

Sounds like a presidential visit to me. I don't know if he is planning a trip to Tampa or not.

If its 9011, a westover jet, its coming back from presidential support down in brazil and Colombia.

The C-5 may be a FRED, but once you learn the ins and outs of it, the C-5 Galaxy is a awesome plane!

A couple of buddies and myself were out shooting on Sunday when the first C-5 came in...we were on our way out of the airport with the cameras packed up so we didn't get a shot. However when we went back that afternoon it was sitting over at Raytheon and I got a decent shot of it on the ramp. The reg on that one was 87-0044 from Travis AFB. Anyone know when these big birds will be leaving?

Aircraft is currently at Dover AFB DE according to my buddy stationed up there. He also said that 69-0011, red westover bird, is the aircraft currently at Tampa, leaving this afternoon around 330-400 pm. I know there is two over at McDill AFB now too. I don't have a clue on why specifically they had two go to Tampa, but there must have been some sort of reason behind it.

Could very well of been my mistake, I'm still pretty new to getting the reg right on military aircraft. However the tail number reads 70044 and has a "Travis" title on the tail. At least this was the one that flew in on Sunday, it could've left by now.

I'm sure it was 7044 if you saw it. I was just saying that its currently at Dover AFB. It is one of two Travis C-5s that have the new tail stripe(the california golden bear on blue background, with the travis in the black).

Yes I recall the "Travis" being in black. I was only able to get a ramp shot of it, its in the queue now so we'll see how it does in another day or two.
