I love this fact about the Space Shuttle that I shamelessly nicked from Wikipedia:

"Although a TAL abort has never been necessary, the huge velocity involved means that the total time from liftoff at Kennedy Space Center to landing in Europe would, according to one astronaut, take "less than 20 minutes"."

How many astronauts are kept on the ISS and when will it be totally complete because i thought that it was only half finished? If i am wrong, feel free to correct me.
Thanks

If the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, 'This was their finest hour.'

Currently, three. During the Shuttle standdown in 2003-2006, the crew was reduced to two to improve the supply/consumable requirements. ISS returned to crew of three last summer.

The crew will increase to six after the arrival of Node 3 (which will house additional life support and sleeping bunks) in 2010.

Station schedule...

9 Aug 07: STS-118 Truss Segment S5 (U,S, spacer segment)
16 Aug 07: Progress M-61 (Russian Resupply)
2 Oct 07: Soyuz TMA-11 (Crew Rotation)
20 Oct 07: STS-120 Node 2 "Harmony" (U.S. Connecting Module)
2 Dec 07: STS-122 Columbus (European Laboratory)
12 Dec 07: Progress M-62 (Russian Resupply)
Jan 08: ATV-1 Jules Verne (European Resupply)
12 Feb 08: Progress M-63 (Russian Resupply)
14 Feb 08: STS-123 Kibo Logistics Module (Japanese Storage Module)
8 Apr 08: Soyuz TMA-12 (Crew Rotation)
10 Apr 08: STS-124 Kibo (Japanese Laboratory)
May 08: Progress M-64
10 Jul 08: STS-119 Truss Segment S6 (U.S. Solar Arrays)
Oct 08: Soyuz TMA-13 (Crew Rotation)
9 Oct 08: STS-126 Shuttle Resupply / Kibo Outfitting
Dec 08: Multipurpose Laboratory Module (Russian Lab/Docking/Storage Module)
15 Jan 09: STS-127 Kibo Exposed Facility (Japanese research platform) and Canadian Robot Hand
Feb 09: HTV-1 (Japanese Resupply)
Apr 09: Soyuz TMA-14 (Crew Rotation)
9 Apr 09: STS-128 Shuttle Resupply
9 Jul 09: STS-129 Shuttle Resupply
30 Sep 09: STS-130 Shuttle Resupply
Oct 09: Soyuz TMA-15 (Crew Rotation)
14 Jan 10: STS-131 Shuttle Resupply
1 Apr 10: STS-132 Node 3, Cupola
Apr 10: Soyuz TMA-16 (Crew Rotation)
9 Jul 10: STS-133 Final Shuttle Resupply

A few notes:
The schedule for Progress/Soyuz after next year has not been fixed. Nor has the plan to increase to two Soyuz at ISS at all times to support crew of six after Assembly Complete in 2010.

ESA has not released a schedule for ATV flights beyond ATV-1 (which on Friday was delayed from Nov 07 to Jan 08) but the contract calls for one flight annually.

HTV (Japan's H-II Transfer Vehicle) and Russia's MLM had been in flux for many years. How likely their schedules are to hold is very unclear. MLM must be in place before Node 3 arrival due to clearance issues.

Expect several Shuttle launch dates to change, to deconflict with Soyuz flights every April and October. Soyuz dates are fixed by a maximum 200-day on-orbit lifetime.
