Today just before 13:30L I saw an AWACS 707 depart towards the south from YYZ. It took off from either 15L or 15R, and headed towards Lake Ontario. From that point on I could see it maneuvering over the lake near the downtown area. Does anybody know what it was here for, and if it returned to YYZ or went elsewhere? This was definitely an interesting sight!

I saw the same 707 Nuno. I was working from home and saw a 707 on finals to YTZ over the Toronto Inner Harbour. Wheels and flaps all down. It pulled up short of landing and flew south over Lake Ontario. A few weeks later, a CAF CC-150 (CAF A310) was also on finals at YTZ and then pulled up. Neither COULD land of course. 2 interesting sightings.
I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

The crew was on a training deployment, and had coordinated for approaches at Trenton, London, Kitchener, Pearson, by luck they were able to get an approach at the Island, then off to Mirabel. The next day they headed off to Comox via Thunder Bay, Regina, and Kelowna...
