In Take Cover, Top Gear's James looks at how warfare drives ingenuity and gets to fly in the RAF's latest supersonic jet. It's an experience that he describes as "the most amazing thing I have ever done".

Well, he flew in a twin seater.
Undemanding TV, but his flight was rather spectacular to watch - I certainly envied James May then.
Anyone spot that while there was a camera mounted in front of May in the rear cockpit, air to air footage was from stock, since May was flying in a no.3 Sqn Typhoon, while the air to air shots were of a 17 Sqn machine.

.......Or a sensible use of licence payers money-or Defence funds, saving on having a second Typhoon or any chase plane airborne!
Of course, the MoD would have seen the programme as a good recruiter.
