Hi!

Jus to let you know that Portugal Air Force did a neat ceremony of the "retirement" from the active duties of the good old Cessna-Reims FTB-337G Milirole. This ceremony was donne this morning at Air Force Base Nr. 1 at Sintra and the very last FTB-337G to fly for Portugal Air Force was FAP Nr. 13729. This airplane was ordered before the "coup d'etat" on the 25th. April 1974 and it was supposed to fly in the guerrilla wars going on in Africa, Portugal ordered 32 airplanes, but they arrived to late to be in this war, so when they arrived ( after the revollution ) 8 of them were stored. Meanwhile it was given a new role, liaison and communications. After 33 years of faithfull service today the FTB-337G said goodbye! During all these years there was only a fatal accident, killing two crew members, and I personally new the pilot of that particular airplane that crashed, so I also take the time to pay my respect for these two and only pilots that perished.
