U.S. Jet Crashes On Aircraft Carrier

Posted (10 years 4 months 2 weeks 3 days 16 hours ago) and read 2332 times:

Aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt, a S-3B Viking refueling plane with two people on board had its landing gear collapse.

Sparks flew as the plane skidded to a halt.

It luckily caight one of the wires on the deck or it would have skidded right off the runway.

Takeoffs and landings were stopped for forty minutes.

No fatalities.

Good to hear that everyone was okay. Just another hazard of carrier aviation. I wonder how much damage was done to the aircraft? Seeing that we need all the tankers we can get.
