This afternoon I saw two F-18 Hornets taking off over my house. I'm pretty sure they were doing touch and goes cause I seen them three times. And just a few minutes ago (10pm est) one lone F-18 Hornet took off and when over the house again.

Islip does get a small amount of military traffic, I have seen C-130's and a couple of other types but never seen Hornets before. Was very cool to see and hear.

Gets kinda old when a pilot decides to sign-out a jet to impress his gf and takes-off full AB on a Sat morning when the entire base is still sleeping. He can park himself when he gets back.
