Can't say I'm really clear on this post. Am I correct in assuming the question goes something like this..."If you could have your own air force, what aircraft would you use"?
If that is the case, I would rather hear WHY you want each of those systems. It seems to me that you have only chosen systems that the average Joe's would consider the "cool" aircraft. You have also listed a few that have ZERO combat-proven performance! While I believe the F-22 and the JSF(X-35) will contribute significantly when their time comes, that time is not now.
Bottom line...I don't think your post is a bad one, I just think it doesn't add anything to the forum unless you want to discuss the rationale behind your selection.

OK... This is all very vague, but...
Why would anyone operate the F-22, F-35, Su-35 and EF-2000 in a single air-force??? Why would you want to have 3 different bombers with overlapping performance (including one that costs more than it's weight in gold) that were developed over the span of 40 years in one air force? And if the fighter and bomber sections are over crowded, than the transport section (apparently both choppers and transports are in a single category) lacks in a/c. Why both the F/A-18 (what version?) and the F-35 are both in the Naval fighter category? 200 fighters are far from being enough for 15 nuclear carriers, BTW. "Chief of the Air Force:
General KROC(the only real fighter pilot on a.net)"
I really hope you're joking.
Now, let's clear up a few things, is this thread basically a "what a/c do you think is cool" thread, or is it about evaluating and designing a realistic AF and Naval Aviation arm for a fictional country?
If it is supposed to have some credibility, we can start with eliminating 3 fighters and one naval fighter. Next, we could re-evaluate the transport section, hopefuly adding a smaller helicopter to the AF (like some UH-60s) etc.
Next, we'll change the numbers. Even the US doesn't have 15 carriers (or 25 B-2's), and we are certainly not designing an AF for a country of anywhere near that kind of magnitude (see "realism"). Also, since it seems that we are talking about a brand new modern AF, I think that the Chinook doesn't really fit in with the rest of the bunch.
And even more important, what about the kinds of weapons those a/c will be deploying???

yea and you forgot the Command and Control i.e. me on AWACS, in most ops with no AWACS there is no flying period, and that is a fact from the CFACC. Also Intel, JStars, Rivet Joint, and of Course Tankers, you aren't going anywhere without tankers. You need EA-6B prowlers for SEAD missions, F-16CJ or OA-10 to act as Sandy s and rescort. UAV's There is more involved than shinny pretty fighters, and why would I want SU-35s in the first place, capes, parts, training etc, not up to snuff (just on an unclassified level).

Ok,
as I wrote in this thread rather than ignore it,
let me go on.
Strike and Ground Attack:
400 planes of 4 different types with almost all the same capabilities? Don't you find it slightly silly? Why don't you add some X-wing figther as well?
Bombers:
Same as above
Naval Division:
15 Nuclear carrier with just 200 aircrafts? What do you want to put on those carriers' decks? Paper planes? Don't you know that with the water the efficiency of a paper plane drops dramatically?
C'mon,
if you want to post a topic like this, at least try to be realistic.
Take as example a Medium Power like France or Germany and develop your own Air Force based on that Country's Force. The result would be much more intriguing.
Let me do it with my Country, Italy
Air Force:
150 EF-2000A/B Typhoon
80 Tornado (upgraded)
90 AMX (upgraded and reengined with EJ-200)
Then 150 F-35 CTOL to replace Tornados and AMXs.
Naval Division:
2 Conventional Aircraft Carriers in the 40.000 ton class (like the ones that Royal Navy is developing) equipped with a total of 90/120 F-35 STOVL and AV-8B+.
For transport duites I'd see the current 22 C-130j and J-30 plus 24/30 C-27J and 6/8 B767TT as well as 6/8 C-17A in leasing. Then add AWACS (E-767, 4/6 examples) and a pletora of helicopters: NH-90, EH-101, AB-139, A-129 and so on.

have you noticed that my previous post has been deleted?
Do you know why?
Because I pushed the suggest deletion botton on my same post a lot of times with the purpose of suggesting the deletion of the entire thread but with the result of deleting only my post.

I'm not going to suggest numbers but here goes.
AF
F-22
JSF AF varient
B-2
F-117
B-1B
EF-111
767 Tanker Varient
E-767 (AWACs varient as used by Japan but with Upgraded US radar)
Rivit Joint
Joint Stars
C-5
C-17
C-130
EC-130
AC-130U
U-2
Darkstar
Several 767s for troop transport (barrowed from Civil sector when needed)
This is for a country with an big budget.
F-22s - Duh only the best
JSF - You need something that is between the fighters and the bombs
B-2 - Heavy Stealth bombers but a country can only afford a few
F-117 - Cheaper can you can have more so if one goes down its no big deal because he only had 2 targets to bomb
B-1B - Heavy Carpet bombing for fear effect, B-52 is too old and slow
EF-111 - Has some use but with a mostly stealth force still.
767 Tanker - KC-135s are old good replacment
E-767 - Same reason
Rivet Joint - We need some Elint
Joint Stars - Won't even bother explaining
C-5 - Heavy Transport
C-17 - Medium transport
C-130 - Light transport and Big Blue
EC-130 - Spec Ops Insertation, Elint
AC-130 - CAS
U-2 - Immediate Battle field survialance
I think thats it, probally can use somethings to add, I really don't want to take a crack at the Navy because right now there is no suitable replacment for the F-14, so it looks like it may be around to stay. But I think that you only need a minimum of 4 carrier battle groups (2 out to sea at anyone time), with a maximum of 8 battle groups available, otherwise why would you even have an airforce.
I will note that I didn't mix equipment, we need to remember that you would have to get the equipment and the US is the only country with a full range of military equipment so I based it on the US air group.
Now if anybody else wants to join in, lets keep it to realistic and give the reasons why you picked each one like I tried to do.

Oh lets see here.....If I was appointed Lord High Protector of Alaska(Eat your heart out Cromwell) I would have the following defense fleet.
Because of the vast distances I need an aircraft with range!
Therefore we will go with assuming 16 aircraft per squadron for tactical aircraft and 12 from large aircraft and transports
28 F-15E's
42 F-15C's
8 F-15D's
For close support and training
28 AMX single seaters
20 AMX twin seaters.
I'll contract out inital training, cheaper that way
12 AC-130's
The distances are vast up here and troops will need support.
12 C-130Js (I wonder if six could be gotten as LC's?)
6 C-17's
6 KC-25's (Or whatever the USAF calls a transport 747)
24 Casa 295's
For maritime and sky patrol...
12 P3C's
4 PC-3 AWACS conversion.
Army helicopters.
Attack
62 AH-64D
Recon
32 Tigers. Modified to serve as recon/scouts/targeting platforms

Size and material depends largely on location and duties.
For a smaller Northern European country:
- 150 F/A-18E for air defense and maratime strike
- 250 F-35 (JSF) for ground attack and point defense
- 100 A-10 for close air support
- 20 C-130J tactical transport
- 10 Fokker 60 light transport
- 10 KC10A heavy transport/tanker
- 100 UH-60H tactical helicopters. Half fitted with Helfire launchers
- 40 AH-64D Apache
- 20 RAH-66A Comanche
Naval:
3 light carriers, and frigates.
Total of
- 60 F-35
- 60 NH-90
- 20 P-3C

I would add Ka-50 to the attack helicopter list and Mi-171 for short-medium range, and Mi-26.
Also I would add a Tu-160 to bomber list and Su-33 for a/c carriers.
Ka-29 are good for frigates.
Mig-29M would also be nice.
