What is the current status of the F-35 program? I've seen photos of only one prototype (pre-production model) and am curious as to whether a second or third has flown and how flight testing is progressing.

After a few glitches, the F-35A is back doing flight tests, about 2 a week. The F-35B is under final construction and expected first flight is the summer 2008, the F-35C should have passed its major design review and expected first flight is 2009.
Only 1 airplane to date which was 5 months grounded after only 18 testflights and a serious software malfunction.
Hopefully back on track after modifications
