Well, like any air-force, they may need to use tankers in case they face an outside challenge, not much they can do with it otherwise.  Smile

Singapore has a far reaching Air Force with a tanker need (they us the USAF's all the time)

Singapore not only has planes based in Brunei, the USA, and Western Australia, they deploy to many other countries, and tankers are needed for these and other contingencies. They have 4 on order (last that I knew of since the final depot work is to be done here at Tinker)

P.S. I've worked several ex.s with Singapore AF F-16s, very sharp guys indeed.

Singapore does a lot of training in Australia. As it is they have to rent the use of USAF tankers whenever they fly over. Given the volume of traffic buying their own is cheaper.
Add to that that having your own tankers is very fancy right now and you have enough reasons.

I wish I were flying

And don't forget their permanent training detachment at Cazaux, France.
