Apparently one of the 310s is getting a face lift. Any idea which one it is exactly? Do we know if the same colours are being kept? I've always thought the scheme to be cool but a little too stealthy looking for the PM.

Looks much more like something of a military transport or tanker aircraft when compared to the U.S. counterpart with the color scheme used since President Kennedy incorporated it back in 1962:

You don't have to have a head of state aircraft at all. The PM uses BA or sometimes a VC10 VIP transport. The queen has her 146, but it is knackered and she only rarely uses it anyway.

Wouldn't be that unusual that Canada's Air Force One would get a new colourscheme. There seems to be a trend in some AFs to have a dedicated aircraft for use by the Chief Executive and/or his cabinet painted in a special colourscheme. In our case, Germany's Air Force One aircraft (10+21 and 10+22) were painted in the White-Blue-Grey VIP colourschme of the Luftwaffe before they got the new "Bundesrepublik Deutschland" colours back around 2003 or 2004.
As for the CC-150, there isn't a dedicated aircraft for VIP use. All five of the aircraft can be reconfigured for troop, cargo, medical or VIP use. The Toronto Sun article is short on facts regarding the CC-150 and is mainly bashing AC for closing down the paint shop. They just spun in the PM for dramatic effect in regards to the CC-150 being repainted.

Isn't the CC-150 also used as a tanker, too. I believe the CC-150s actually replaced the CC-137 tankers (B-707-320Cs, or KC-707s?) the RCAF flew, when it was the RCAF.

Canada has 5 CC-150. 1 VIP, 2 MRTT, and 2 Combi.
I really like the CC-150 paint as it is now. It is a tactical colour, modern looking, but retains the classic lightening bolt layout of the CC-137. I was really dissapointed when pics of our first CC-17 didnt have a variation lightening bolt on it. IMO Canada has the best paint jobs on its aircraft, esp the special occasion CF-188s.

A not too bad hybrid between a real tactical color scheme and a representational color scheme. It's practical. I like it.

Which they had better never done. The "new" scheme is plain ugly. I hope the Global Expresses and ACJs next year come with a new color scheme that reflects what Germany really is or what it stands for ... the current paint scheme looks like a bad performance of the The Dying Swan (while Anna Pavlova would turn over in her grave)

I have heard the Polaris aircraft often referred to as the “a sheep in a wolf’s skin” because of its unique colour scheme. I hope the new paint job will still be based on darker colours as the CC-150s are primarily used for military ops.
Kindly post any pics of the new scheme, thanks!

I understand that there is no designated aircraft, but is 001 used most often as CanForce 1 ?

I don't know, I actually think it make it look stealthy, and well, "cool". Can't wait to see the new scheme though!

The gray color on the CC-150s looks like a much darker shade than that on the CC-177s. Is that true, or isw it just the lighting effects of the camera?

The CC150 has a finish that is closer to Gloss than the Matt of the CC177, I don't have access to the Mil Spec right now but I will try and find out.
