In addition to 2 F18's, 2 C101's are at BCN as part of the security for the European Council.

In case it is of any interest to spotters, the pair this afternoon were coded 74-39 and 74-12. Passed on taxi out. I could not see the F 18's today, they were visible yesterday but coded not read.

I'm sorry but I have no idea what a C101 is. Could you enlighten me?

Quit calling an airport ramp "Tarmac" and a taxiway "runway".

The CASA-101 is a two-seat trainer used by the Spanish AF (any other operators?), I think it has some ground attack capabilities. Similar to such a/c as the BAe Hawk, the Mb339, MiG AT etc.

Yeah, the Spanish AF puts up a great aerobatic display with those, BTW.
