Odd Flight/Aircraft On Flightaware

Flightaware is acting up so I didn't add a link, but it shows a WB57 flight out of RIV under a NASA Callsign. Anyone know what its up to? And why now EDW?

Being NASA926, and from the shape of it's flightpath
I am tipping some high altitude research, possibly some range calibration work for the folks at Edwards.

Not sure this forum is the best place for a definitive answer!


If your camera sends text messages, that could explain why your photos are rubbish!

They are photo aircraft used during launches of the shuttles (or used to be). They have extreme long range tracking cameras. Big grin
