Hey all,
What's the latest news about the F-22 and RAH-66 Comanche programs? Is it just me, or does it seem like it is taking a while for these to get in the air?
Thanks,
PL

The RAH-66 is delayed for the 6th time, but still being funded.
The F-22 has been funded for the 2nd long lead production of 13 aircraft with the 3.1 software upgrade (the newest) which provides 90% of the contracts capabilities.
LOt 3 long lead payment was approved on Feb 15 for 23 LRIP aircraft.
The 8th F-22A has flown and is scheduled to go to Edwards for continued testing.
The V-22 Osprey has also been funded again for testing with 20 Aircraft to be stored in Amarillo (were they are produced) until further testing is needed after the fixes are put on the airframe.

Thanks. Any idea when the RAH-66 is suppose to go into production? Are there any orders for the F-22?
Thanks again,
PL

The only customer for the F-22A so far is the USAF, with less than 300 a/c on order, to replace roughly double that number of F-15A/C's. The number of a/c was supposed to be much higher originally, but it was cut several times over the years. South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Israel are considered potential customers, although I think it's a little too early to talk about exports right now, as the F-22 isn't even in full operational service with the USAF yet. The US might be interested in exporting some F-22's to try and lower the price of the Raptors they buy.
